We’ve always wanted to do something different. Something that was fun, something that we loved. After much thought, we narrowed down to something that we really really love to do... travel.

Each time we travelled, we bought back a memory of that place in the form of a fridge magnet. For some strange unknown reason, you could never find great quality and fun magnets on India. It’s one of those strange mysteries of life that one may never answer.. like : Why don’t men understand that peach can be a color and a fruit.. or maybe .. Why did Darth Vader turn to the Bright Side in the end .. but who knows why and that’s the way it is.

We toyed around with the concept for over 4 years before Vivek gave Shubhra the ‘Now or Never’ speech sometime in 2009. Actually, it lasted much longer than a speech, but nevertheless :)

The rest they say is history.. They also say that’s a corny line, but who are we to question them? They say a lot of stuff.. like: Never eat fish during the monsoon season.

We digress..

Chumbak was born out of love for India and the love of travel. Our original plan was to have only fridge magnets, but somewhere along the way, Chumbak became a lot more than just that! Chumbak became a way to experience a little bit of India, the India that we see everyday ... in the form of fridge magnets, keychains, t shirts, pens, notebooks and various other stuff..
